Press release: Principal Judge directs for expeditious hearing of refinery-affected people’s court case
On March 28, 2018, twenty (20) women, ten children and other refinery-affected persons wrote to the Principal Judge and notified him of their intention to demonstrate at his chambers.
The refinery-affected women, children and others sought to express their displeasure with the judiciary over its inhumane, unjust and unfair delay in hearing the case they brought against government in 2014 over delayed, unfair and under-compensation.
Understanding their frustration, the Principal Judge, Dr Yorokamu Bamwine, directed the High Court to expedite hearing of the refinery-affected people’s court case.
