CSO letter to NEMA to address illegalities and irregularities in Tilenga EMSPs public review process

Through the letter, the CSOs are calling on NEMA to address the illegalities and irregularities that are being seen in the public review process of the Tilenga oil project’s Environmental and Social Management Plans (EMSPs).

The Tilenga oil project will affect major ecosensitive areas in Uganda and the DRC including Murchison Falls National Park, River Nile, Lake Albert, the Murchison Falls-Albert Delta, Kabwoya Game Reserve, Bugungu Game Reserve and others.

Adherence to the law and effective public participation in development of mitigation or management plans among others is therefore needed to protect the above resources from oil impacts.Letter to NEMA on Tilenga ESMPs
